Called in to see a company this week who have started producing Speed 6 air boxes as per original spec. Got a quick photo.

Good to see an alternative to the costly CF option, although I hope they are not exactly as per original spec, ie don't fit. smile

Mines a bit deformed so may be interested.

Also, it would be good if they could use stainless toggle catches!

Cheers. Lee.

STR8Six use a non-TVR airbox on their Supercharged Sagaris... looks quite a professional piece of kit..

Another company I know of are also developing an alternative/improved airbox for the SP6, although I don't know of the release dates or price details as of yet.

I've seen that too. Looks to me to be a modified part from a BMW supercharger kit or something off a part originally designed for a Skyline or Supra or something?

does look like a good airbox though. I'm sure it could have a bottom air feed instead of the side entry supercharger one if needed....

You need to remember that a filter has to be accomodated and it needs to be tuned correctly for the Speed 6; neither of which are necessary for that airbox as it's forced induction and the filter is before the supercharger.

As it stands, the standard Speed Six airbox it's been found is pretty much bang on in terms of design as no one has been able to better it. Just the original is crap quality so a well made one would be a wothwhile upgrade.

I had a close look at one today, quality is there, quite a bit thicker than the original.

I'll be in the market for one if I can't get the damn bonnet fettled, rubs on top of the airbox. I swear that bonnet is for a different car!
