Renault 182 cup

Hi guys, can someone enlighten me the differences between the Renault 182 cup and Trophy?
Also is there a 182 sport, i gather the Trophy is a limited edition.

You can get a regular 182, a 182 with cup packs, a 182 cup and a 182 trophy

Trophy has racing dampers, different alloys and recaro seats and comes in red only. That pretty much sums it up.

Sachs remote reservoir dampers to be precise. They'll be expensive to replace if they go wrong, but I was reading about somewhere a while back that could rebuild them for a few hundred pounds.

Thanks for the info, a mate at work has the Trophy and he's got a big bill to sort out his suspension.
He says it a common problem, so you pay extra for the Trophy for it to have known problems with it's dampers???

182 / 182 Cup: 182 Cup is lighter than the 182 with stiffer suspension, anthracite wheels, larger spoiler, splitter. Slight performance gain for Cup 6.9 / 7.1 (to 60)

182 Cup / Trophy: Trophy slightly stiffer and lower front suspension and (arguably) sharper steering, 11-spoke alloys. Worth an extra £3K second-hand? Not IMO!

And most of the 182 Cups you see advertised are not genuine Cups, they're 182s with Cup packs.

That's jsut a bit slower than an old BMW E46 Auto, surely the light weight must help it.

Well, you pay extra for the collectability and better handling, but just have to be aware that they may need doing. Any performance-biased car tends to have the same set of rules though (i.e. more expensive to run, more specialist parts etc.).
