Does anyone knwo how they actually bloody work????

If i go to either the Trainline or Cross Country trains and tell the website that i'd like to go from Chesterfield to Leeds tomorrow, departing after 14:00 and that the train must go via Sheffield I get the suggestion that I should catch the 14:03 train from Chesterfield which arrives in Leeds at 15:02.

Jolly good thinks I.

I'll just change the details to Sheffield to Leeds so I can see what time the train actually calls in Sheffield.

However both websites tell me that there is no train from Sheffield to Leeds that arrives in Leeds at 15:02????

Can someone please just check my sanity and tell me what i'm doing wrong?????

Many kind thanks in advance.

In more good news, if you do get that train it will be a Vomit Comet meaning that:

(a) you will be standing

or

(b) you will be standing right next to a stinking khazi

Good luck.

I assume you are just using it to check the train times and not booking. My experience every time I have looked at prebooking the day before is that the tickets are more expensive than buying at the station. Maybe its cheaper if you book further ahead but I am never that organised.

In once case the price difference was £40 for the ticket and when I got to the station they were offering free parking for the day with a return ticket, so saved another £4.50 smile
