I missed Sundays Top Gear.
Anyone see it?

How well did the Carerra GT do?
How did it do compared to the SLR?

Thx.

1.1 second faster in the hands of Stig (1'19.8")

Powerlap times haven't been updated yet.

Seemed to be a 'bit' of a handful!!!

And the sound... absolutely fantastic.

Going to the MotorShow at the w/e and I'll probably spend half the day on the Porsche stand!

It's even more beautiful in reality. Great Porsche stand too, lots of space around the cars and they've got a cutaway CarreraGT showing the rear suspension. It's a work of art!

Which when translated out of 'porsche speak' means some driving character actually escaped the clutches of the electronic driver 'aids'

Interesting that they admitted to Stig spinning it 5 times before he could set the time though.

Sounds a bit like my S2 : like a vacuum cleaner. Perhaps the occasional rumble of the engine reminds of some gravel being aspired by said vacuum cleaner.

I'll have an Audi/Lamborghini V10 anytime, thanks.

I didn't think it looked THAT fast though, not compared to the SLR...dunno why, the SLR looked far faster round the corners :S

But it was amazingly impressive, BUT, I still can't work out whether I think it's a good looking car or not

With the roof on i think it looks terrible, especially from the rear where the scoops meet with the roof. But with the roof off (as it should be) i think it looks great.

I dunno, the cabin seems to just...*stop*. It looks as though it should sweep back, but then maybe I'm just conditioned into thinking everything needs to look like a 911! lol
