BOV Question

I'm thinking of fitting a BOV on my GTO3. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for?

Many including me use a forge BOV, looks good, sounds good and comes with vacum hose etc, my one is screwed into the pro alloy hard pipe which has the bos welded in to accept it, I'm sure it can still be fitted to the rubber hose with a small section of pipe put in.

just make sure when ordering to specify that it's for a noble and correct me if I'm wrong someone, it should be fitted with a yellow spring...

I too have the Forge BOV that screws into a weld-in boss on the ProAlloy hard pipe.
When you grow up and don't want it anymore, unscrew it, put a 2p in the hole and screw it back in. Then bung the vac hose with a screw or remove the whole extra section. Job done.

If I fit the BOV to the standard rubber pipe I guess I need a T piece? What size should the T piece be an is the instalation easy?

Fingers crossed I can do a deal with Gaz though as that one looks straight forward!

You can buy the whole kit from forge, complete with correct size T-piece.

Fitting is a piece of piss. You just cut a section of the big rubber hose ( air intake mejobby ), stuff the t-piece in, secure with the jubilee clips, and pop the vacuum line on. Simples.

There's already a vacuum line close to where you fit the BOV. In the kit there is a tiny T-piece that you use to break into the line.

Motor mechanics is not my best skill so if you could send a picture it would be a massive help. Only thing I have touched on the car was the front turbo oil feed pipe and wished I hadn't started that.

That's great. Do most Nobs have them fitted? My car is really quiet with little induction noise so a BOV should add to the drama. Thats assuming it stops raining.

Got the BOV fitted, really easy job as you all said. When would you expect to hear the noise, does it only happen when your boost gauge goes >0 pressure? Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question but mine only makes the sound when I drive the car reasonably hard.
