TVR Racing at Donington
Discussion
A great day's TVR racing at Donington yesterday. A 24 car grid and the fastest 5 electing to start from the back, from the pitlane.
Mike Saunders won Race 1 with Tim Hood 2nd, Danny Winstanley 3rd. I retired with a broken alternator - we nearly managed to get to the end but the fuel pressure started dropping as we ran out of volts. Dean Cook also retired in the Dulfords 'old schoo Chevy' Tuscan with a seized engine after the oil pump belt cam adrift.
Mike called it a day after race 1, needing to get home to attend to a damaged wheel bearing before today's GT Cup.
That left 4 'invitation' cars starting from the pit lane for race 2 - with Darren Dowling subsituted in for Fred Tonge. Darren went on to win race 2, with Danny 2nd and me 3rd. Tim Hood retired with a dislodged bonnet, Graham Walden with suspected oil pressure and rear suspension worries, and Doug Ellwood in the Marcos for reasons unknown.
Some tremendous racing throught the grid on a fabulous circuit - and lap times faster than the World Touring Cars we were supporting

I thinks thats Fred Tonge in the first GTF. (He's Mr GTF btw)
Great to have the Big boys back out there.
It was a memorial race for Tom Stewart, one of our guys who died last year, so as many as possible made the effort for a good showing.
Made for a teriffic race and his family who were all there, had a great day.
