God knows why, I just woke up Sunday morning and did it. Just to make it interesting, I gave up coffee at exactly the same moment. Anyone fancy an arguement about anything? I don't care what the subject is, or even which side of the arguement I take.

I suspect you will hear about the Belgian economy shifting it's fiscal alliance on the 6 o'clock news tonight

Good luck mate. I have been free for nearly 4 months now and am loving it (Although my waistline has expanded a touch.)

Brave of you to give up the coffee at the same time though as I find it the perfect replacement for those rare times when I feel a bit edgy still.

I gave up using the NHS supplied patch route and it was actually relatively easy after the first 2/3 weeks.

Good luck and stick with it.

Good for you. I gave up..errr....fifteen years ago...

It was a bastard.

But it *really* does have a brilliant effect on your fitness and your wallet.

Stick with it and reap the rewards...

And don't forget to become a totally intolerant evangelical ex-smoker...

Good Luck.

Never smoked but give up caffeine for 2 weeks about once a year and spend the 1st 3 days half asleep.

Just for the fun, no nicotine substitutes or anything else allowed, just the odd glass of water.

Wo betide any MoFo sonofabitch who rubs me up the wrong way today

Personally I think Tony Blair has done a fantastic job. I look forward to another 15 years of his glorious leadership, before he gets a £12m pension and his rightful place in the Lords.

Oh, and bring on £1.50 per litre petrol

After 24 hours the nicotine is out of your system so you don't have nicotine cravings...just habitual ones! You've got through the toughest part.
