Although Mika had a very strangely shaped arse, the team did manage to find him a suitable bucket seat...

The pit boys misunderstood Mika's request for new rubber and added damping.

"Lewis Hamilton is blind!: McLaren"

McLaren F1 today responded to claims from Lewis Hamilton that compared to the Mika Hakkinen's chamionship winning car, his MP4-26 "..is an absolute bucket", by displaying Hakkinen's car alongside an actual bucket.

"Well see for yourself. There's Mika's car and there's a bucket. The Bucket is blue for a start. There's no similarity whatsoever." said an insider at the Woking headquarters.

When pressed, the source did however admit that the McLaren F1 team were tactically far more capabale with a blue bucket, than with an actual F1 car.
"Its something we're working on. We know how good we are with a bucket and its our goal to make sure that translates to the racing cars. But certainly buckets are easier than racing cars. There's only one interchangeable part, for a start. Even we couldnt fk up the fitting of a steel handle. Though we did insist on using a cardboard one once. In the rain. It was a weight-saving inititaive. Just bad luck I think." he continued.

Lewis Hamilton was unavailable for comment regarding the bucket display, but in the days leading up to Silverstone he was said to be in talks with Adrian Newey about a radical new watering can design, rumoured to incorporate a spout that only flexes when fully laden with mineral water containing exactly 32ppm of calcium.
