Currently enjoying some 78% dark with a glass of red. I find it to be an interesting taste, and do like it with wine or (as a treat) with a nice cigar.

So, what dark chocolate do you recommend?

I got some 83% from an artisan chocolatier in belgium, courtesy of my sister.

Enjoyed it with a 20yo single-cask oloroso Glendronach.

Seriously chaps, even if you're not really into whisky, if you like good chocolate you've got to try it with a really powerful sherry matured (not sherry finished!) dram.

In fact, fk it, pm me your address and I'll send you a measure of a good dram to go with it wink

I like dark chocolate, never tried any of these fancy ones though. Bourville and Lindt are the limits of my experiences!

I used to be on the monthly taster list (box every month of their choice) but had to stop the habit due to the fact its a bit too easy to eat them.

You can't make fans out of dark chocolate.

Blades would fly off and have someone's eye out...

Bloody daft idea...

Rococo English Chocolate Selection for me.

Mostly dark chocolate, this has things like gin and lemon, rose and violet creams.

Noms.

I was wondering what happened to Chocolat Menier, but it seems now defunct: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menier_Chocolate

I thought that was almost inedibly bitter.

I'm a big fan of lindt 85%, it's easy to pick up in Sainsburys with the weekly shop smile
Its 100% of course its going to be bitter... I would suspect that a small sliver is about the absolute maximum you can have without pulling faces.

Good call, I too used to be a member but cancelled for the very same reason. It was always nice to see the taster box on the doormat though.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I have some eating to do.

Chocolate + whisky is a winning combination
