Specialist inspections?

I'm sure this has been covered, and I apologise for that, but searching for PPI and/or "inspection" brings up too many unrelated threads to be useful.

I'm looking for a second car and a post-facelift M5 touring is almost too good value to be true at the moment so it's a strong contender.

Does such a thing as "specialist inspections" exist in the M world at the moment, or do you tend to just send along the RAC for a poke around?

Are there any particular weaknesses / problems that a new buyer without an ounce of mechanical ability should be wary of?

I'll almost certainly be buying from within the dealer network, so will have the AUC warranty, but I always get a PPI done regardless. The only question is whether an RAC inspection is actually any use...

Looking at an M5 for daily driver duties - can anyone recommend a specialist who will do an inspection (paid of course) on an E39 M5 in Hampshire?
