Best video camera thingy for corporate videos?

Hello,
I've been asked to find a digital video camera so that we can do video press releases and put them on our website. I know nothing about this but I know the good people of PH almost certainly do.

So, it needs to be easy to use, compatible with a tripod, we don't need HD video quality output, but quality substantially better than home movies and webcams.

Any suggestions?

yeah id say go for a DSLR that can do video, as the lens will be vastly superior to any video camera you can get under £1500...

I bought my g/f a 550D a fortnight ago, and I was really impressed with it. For the price I was surprised at what it can do.

Our soon to be camera person says she prefers canon cameras anyway. Cheers chaps I'll go and check it out.

Don't forget the lighting. And check the sound quality; ideally get a clip (tie) mike.
