WTF DVLA can't call them all morning

is it just me and my bad luck or are they not taking calls!! you dont even get put in a line they simply fob you off with recorded message then they hang up!

Call it, then when the menu's come up press #. It puts you through to the first available advisor.

So normal DVLA call system then???

As above, 0 or # should pull you out of the queue/call management and redirection system and make a real person's phone ring somewhere...

...of course if there is someone there who can be bothered to answer it is an entirely different question!?

I've had a few dealings with DVLA lately and without exception they have become slow, inaccurate, ineffective and stroppy if challenged.

A few years back they seemed OK, but now....

I went into the DVLA B'ham office today as calling them is a waste of time (you can't call the local offices it all goes through Wales).

Had to sort out a few things.

20 minute cue to get to the first desk then a 25 minute wait to be seen.

TBF the guy behind the counter seemed a decent chap and was as helpful as he could be but he couldn't get hold of any of the Welsh chimps either so he promised he'd call me back when he could.

Hopefully that will be tomorrow.

Birmingham DVLA always a nightmare, we used to use worcester or shrewsbury, much quieter and worcester in particular, easy to get to.

I finally managed to get through and they sorted my problem out within 7 minutes and 30 seconds.

Dunno if that's all that good, but given the reputation they have on here it certainly seems to be.

DVLA B'Ham called me back this morning - all sorted.

So as I suspected it's just the Welsh lot that are the disaster area.
