Afternoon all,

Tomorrow it's going to be my job to creat dinner again, i like to try ad do something new from time to time, (i ended up with ras al hanout chicked last week) which was good!
Dinner for 2 for under a £10 does'nt seem too difficult.
Only stipulations are, prep'd & served in under 2 hours, no fish unless it's Salmon / Cod. (Gf isn't a fish fan).
Must involve at least 2 different veg (she'd a big veg fan).
Nothing horrendously difficult as i'm no Heston!
I shall post photo's of the final result!
Extra PH points for Dessert aswell!

I look foward to your suggestions!

Add some frozen peas.
Done.
(though meal for 2 is a bit optimistic.)

Got a wok?

Simple beef/chicken stir fry with noodles should hit all the bases.

(IMO fish sauce is the secret ingredient you need)

I did this for the Pork Challenge, should come under budget. Pretty easy and other people have tried the recepie and it worked for them.

Home-made shepherd's pie as per Gordon Ramsay's recipe.

Simplify where need be.

Lamb/spuds/carrot/onion/tomato puree/red wine should be under a tenner. Use dried herbs from the cupboard instead of fresh. That sort of thing.

I've made this, both in full-on poshnosh style, and in "wednesday night after work" style, and they're both fab.

We generally tend to have roasts, shephards pies, roasts etc.
We used to eat a lot of stir fry too but we got an electric oven & hob & it just does'nt taste the same as gas!
I have until tomorrow night now to do it so a bit more time!

Two of the biggest half moon gammon steaks your budget will allow, two oozing fried duck eggs, handful of trice cooked chips, peas and assorted condiments.

And for dessert....pancakes and maple syrup.

Not adventurous but Its exactly what I'm thinking of eating tonight. mmmmm, gammon

Lasagne, I made one that served 6 for less than £10 yesterday.

Minced beef: £4
Asda Pasta sauce: 3 for £2
Asda grated Mozzarella: £1 X 3
Asda lasagne sheets: X0p (can't remember exactly, but it was less than a pound)

30 mins to cook meat and simmer in sauce, maybe 5 mins assembling it and 45-50 mins in the oven. The pasta sauce had onions and mushrooms in it so that covers the 2 veg requirement. hehe

Courgette carbonara: http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/pasta-recipes/b... (this tastes amazing and is easy, ingredients can't cost more than £5).

Serve it with a green salad (£2).

With the £3 left over, either buy some of those Gu puddings or make this Lemon and Polenta cake: http://www.nigella.com/recipes/view/LEMON-POLENTA-...

Chicken breasts, sliced lenghthways (but not completly in half), stuffed with black pudding and wrapped with bacon. Stick them either in a George Foreman for 25 mins on setting 2 or in the oven to cook.

Serve with some mashed spuds, the required 2 veg and some kind of sauce/gravy.
