I have my new chim !!
Discussion
Hi guys I collected my TVR Chimaera at the weekend!
Here are a few pictures I have taken on my phone,I will take more when the weather allows me to give the car a nice clay and polish!!

First thoughts are wow! I love the sound I really do! The car is very different to anything I have driven before but I love it!
The car itself is:
98 400
Two owners from new
last owner had it for 10 years
Has had outriggers, full respray
Clutch and cam
New rear screen
Wheels refurbed and new shocks!
I have a few questions!! For those of you who do your own work on the car where do you source your parts form?
I want to improve the condition of the interior, starting with the seats, I saw a thread a while back where someone used a product that really restored the seats appearance, I am very interested in doing the same but I cannot find the thread! Does anyone know of a suitable product?
Lastly I would like to thank all of those who helped me with my questions before my initial purchase!

To be honest I am quite happy with the speed, it's exactly as I imagined, similar to the s2000 but with torque! My main objective is to get the car as prestine as I can with out spending silly amounts of money!
watch thisyou can send a small sample and they will colour match

My friend and I have the s2000 and Chim respectively. s2000 has some mods but the two are pretty much identical whenever we go out.
They're deceptively quick little cars those S2000s. I spent some time with one of the last S2000s and a (supercharged) Elise SC and the Lotus was barely any quicker from a rolling start. Impressive for a mass produced Japanese roadster pitched against such a focused sports car.I feel the s2000 is a very underrated car. I have loved mine and would have one again in the future, the temptation of a v8 was too much in the end! They are quick when they are in vtec, and have a fantastic gear box!
In so many ways the s2000 is far better than the chimaera, yet the chimaera feels so special! Every time I look at it and start the engine I have a massive grin on my face! This may fade with time though!

Totally agree. You usually have to be talking about something far more exotic (read 'expensive') to get anyway near the same sense of occasion that a relatively affordable TVR has in excess. That's what makes them so addictive.Gassing Station | Chimaera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
