Just in case any fellow SASers are twiddling their thumbs this coming Saturday .....

Bracknell Classic Car Show

I think I'll be there early in the morning to help setup (with my SEBEV hat on (literally, as well as figuratively)) smile

I'm planning to come to this, though I didn't fancy being stuck all day so I'm not showing off my car!

Slightly OT I topped up the SEBEV box at Waitrose a couple of weekends ago with a couple of tokens, it's quite alot fuller than the other 2!

How do the tokens turn into donations? Does each token have a cash value?

Top man thumbup

In terms of how it works, each month, each Waitrose supermarket has a £1,000 budget. The store themselves (and the employees) choose which 3 local charities to support that month. The volume of tokens equates to a percentage of the £1k. So, if over the whole month, one charity gets 50% of all the tokens, and the other 2 get 25% each, then it would equate to £500 for that 1st charity and £250 each for the other 2.

And trust me - it genuinely does make a difference.

If anyone is ever interested in SEBEV - then by all means drop me an email and I can arrange for you to come down and meet the team, see what we do, etc, etc, etc.

And vaguely back on topic - the reason for SEBEV helping out on Saturday at this classic car show is that we also provide first aid and marshalling services, event support, etc, etc for events. All money we get from doing this goes into the coffers to help keep us going.

Quick bump in case anyone has nothing to do tomorrow and is close to Bracknell.

From what I've heard it's going to be all around the town centre itself smile

Been there to help setup smile

Usual fayre of old vehicles, including my personal favourite, a Daimler Dart SP-250C cloud9

Followed closely by a Fulvia.

The batmobile is there (along with flames), the Flintstones car, the Monkeemobile, and an interesting selection of Americana.

Sorry I missed you Jim smile

I popped back later (with Kinky Junior), just to have a wander around, etc; and the lads told me that you'd been!

On a side-note, my car won the exhibitors car of the show .... the beloved Daimler cloud9

See you at SEBEV one night I hope.
