This year's dash layout.... Almost ready for the Growl.

I was looking at some old pictures of my Griff and I realised that I have changed the dash layout every year just before attending the Growl.

It's nearly time for the Growl, so it's time to show this year's dash mods... All done with a little help from my daughter and her tool collection. (She'll be changing spark plugs in no time )

For those that know me well, it's time to play spot the difference

Is the gauge which is wiped out by the flash the oil pressure or volts?
I guess you've deleted the other.

I like the idea of moving the indicator markers up between the main dials. I have secondary LED's attached to the cowl and it makes a big difference.

What is the X to the right of the fog repeater light? a battery crossed out - ie. not charging warning or is it Side Lights on.

I can't see a MIL, oil pressure or charging warning lights
What is going in the small cutout above the vent

Answering Baretti's questions:

There's no volt gauge - the flash obscured gauge is oil pressure.

The X near the fog lamp indicator is the sidelight telltale. It's not really an X, but looks like one at the photo resolution.

3 lights above the row of buttons are ! P and inertia switch. There is no MIL lamp since the small cutout will contain an LCD screen for ECU data. The oil pressure and charge warning lamps are integrated in the speedo. There's no point in duplicating them elsewhere.

I think it will stay steel this time. It's stainless, so there is no problem with it.

Individual warning lights/buttons instead of the black plastic strip?

Ive been thinking of doing something similar as the positioning of the warning lights in that plastic strip dont help in my opinion. I was thinking about fitting something similar to this to mine for the warning lights/push buttons....

Although the warning lights would probably be too big to fit them between the two big dials - just where you need them.

on a serious note.... some very aesthetical bits on that dash...as well as better located,,,,,, the indicator lights on the original dash total waste of time... infact so are the head lights n main beam,,,, no 1 out of line of sight, n02 can't be seen in day light

The difference is it looked wrong hiding all the wiring away and making the car look tidy so you've decided to keep it in the house permanently and hold all the instruments on with cable ties?
