I've got a Canon 450d, 50mm f/1.8, standard lens and a Tamron 18-200. I'd like to upgrade the Tamrom as I don't think its a very good lens, I got it second hand for £70 and I'm not hugely impressed. Even the kit lens takes much better shots.
A mate has the Canon 18-135mm on his 7D and its a great lens, so I was looking at something like that or even the 18-200, so I've got most things covered in 1 lens. The hope is, I will be happier carrying that around as its a high quality lens, and it might spur me onto getting a 60d (or what ever is new at the time). I take photos of everything with this, motorsport, flowers, people, weddings etc.
Would throwing everything at the 18-200 be a mistake? Is it worth getting the 18-135 and spending more on a telephoto lens later on?
