At least you'd be smiling 100 miles from home at the side of the road in the pouring rain in the S ..... as the footwell fills with water that is coming through the roof / windscreen / seals / engine bay etc etc. Did they make you stand in wet grass up a hill while you waited for the AA? Hope you had a brolly?
I had been camping down in Devon so had all my rain gear fortunately. The worst part was sitting in the AA cab on the way back listening to the AA man telling me I should have bought a Mitsubishi Colt (which he just had) ! He had a couple of stories about picking up TVRs though - interestingly only Tuscans. One guy twice in a month, apparently he was very embarrassed 
They only put Tuscan's on the back of the low loader because they don't like taking the bonnet off to get at the engine 
That's honestly what an RAC guy told me when my Tuscan overheated - he had been told not to remove the bonnet of a Tuscan as one of his colleagues had done it previously and damaged it leading to a compensation claim.
Mine was only on a low loader once in 3 years to get to Power and diagnose, as you know, a faulty filler cap as the cause of my overheating woes
