Sounds like they just used what was in it.
I'd be very afraid that he's stored it in immaculate condition for all those years and has possibly done more harm than good by starting it.

Those things take me back. I remember burning my arm horribly on the exhaust when checking the oil level for an old biddy at the country garage where I worked as a child.

Aside: I though these things continued to be manufactured for *ages* in Poland. How are to to know that it actually is a 1989 model and not something a lot newer?
