I have 5.0Litre XKR and 3.0 Portfolio XF both have top of range audio systems and voice control buttons on steering wheel. When button pushed on both radio is cut off but no voice control press button again and radio on again. My dealer is telling me that voice is an option but I find it strange that both cars are same and would have thought it would be standard
Anybody know ??

Voice control is definitely an option and not standard. I had to spec it on my XF S Portfolio.

With no voice control installed, the voice buttons on your steering wheel operate the phone I believe.

That seems to be right but I was just surprised it was an option on either car

I do agree with you. I've got the top of the range audio too and when you combine that with Bluetooth, it does seem silly that you have to pay extra for it, but then again the out-of-the-box Portfolio is pretty much loaded as a car, especially when you compare like for like with Audi, where everything is an optional extra.

Funnily enough, the lovely folk on xfforum.co.uk all say that the Voice Control is a rubbish option to have. However, I love the fact that I can change from Audio to Nav to Climate and so on, without taking my eyes off the road.

Yeah JV is an option but its also rubbish with less functionality on the XF than it had on the old S-type
