I am still debating in my mind if I put the "tasmin" stripe back on my car (it had it when it left the factory) so far I have err'd on the side on no stripe for 2 main reasons.

1) I'm not even going to try and fit it myself IF it goes back on it HAS to be done properly!

2) a number of peole have said how nice the car looks without it!

I'll see if i can hunt out pics of the car (before restoration) with the stripe and post that with a current pic and see what you lot think.

When I replaced mine I did take a while to decide whilst i had one side with and one side without. I can see the argument for either. If you do put it back on do it yourself. It's p%ss easy mate.

Agreed, and if the worst comes to the worst you can always peel it off again. I have a few reels of original 3M stuff - what colour would you need?

Nope - I have Royal Blue, a coppery Gold, and I think a Maroon.

Its not like our cars need lines to highlight curves, or make the cars "more appealing to the eye" (or go faster).
Run around in the car without for a while and get used to it.
If you put em on and dont like, it was a waste of time.

I also don't like after market V8 badges and other "Bling"

For me ...its a no !!

I'm with Adam on this - definitely WITH

Pic of my 400SE and B@tmans which is the same Mica Blue

Mine is striped and Simons is bear.
I think mine looks a lot nicer (although Simon thinks his does)

The pic of Simons does look in that light as if it is striped anyway

It's not bling it's a factory thing!

I spose I should count myself lucky this conversation didn't happen at the BBWF2011 bar:

"I saw a reel of pinstripe in your boot - a reddy colour wasn't it??"
Me: "It's Maroon."
"Cheers - mine's a Rusty Nail!!!"

Cheers for the comments guys.

I'm not talking just a pinstripe here I'm talking the original (as fitted by the factory) pin stripe and one that has the word "TASMIN" near the rear on both sides.

Total height is over an inch execpt where it tapers towards the nose.

like these

This is the state the car arrived with me in......looks mich nicer now but do i stick the stripes back on?

Given the fact that those stripes are quite instrumental to the original look of the car personally I would replace them.

Looked a photos with and without.
Both look ok but I would tend to go to the original ex-factory look with the strips and decals.
Unless you want to change the bonnet too..

Bear in mind that the nose tapered section is actually one piece, it's not made from two stripes merging.

When I had my Tasmin resprayed (Ferrari Rosso Pearl!) my paint chap Glen suggested it was a pity to replace the graphics with just plain black and suggested we got a more suitable set cut. So we browsed some colour samples and I went for metallic gunmetal.
When they arrived Glen mixed a batch of colour-matched paint and sprayed the lower sills to match the stripes - looked fantastic!

The graphics came from a place around Nottingham and were absolutely spot-on... so someone had obviously been there before me (this was 1997!)

A dozen years on it still looked good...

Hi Trickie !

After the goodwood weekend the fest was out this year, I've got a wedding on this weekend so the airshow is out too.

We are still coming over to your meet in September so Don't turn up in the jag, we have another Mica blue wedge joined us as well.
