Can you skim a diesel cylinder head?

I've been told that it is not possible to skim the head of a Vauxhall Vivaro 2.0 litre CDTi engine. is this true?

I'm 99% sure those heads don't have 'combustion chambers' e.g. the valves sit flush (or almost flush) with the face of the head.
