Anyone know the source of the 2 plastic fresh air vents on a S2 350i?

You could see if Karl's (www.redlineaccessoriesltd.co.uk) new Aluminium ones will fit. They're not on the webiste yet and Karl is on vacation now, so you might have to wait a couple of weeks to see them - Streaky

Cheerz guys I'll take a peak - I thought they were TR7s myself but I'll keep looking.

Are they the ones either side of the clock? If they are then I think you will find they are from a Jaguar XJS, the ones on the dash near the doors.

Thanx again - I'll look at the XJS parked near me and see if you're right.

I thought I'd wake up this dead old thread.

Did anyone ever resolve the Air vent identification?

I need to get fresh air out of mine, so I don't gag on the fuel smell until I can get a new tank. The parts manual , page P1 shows my early wedge system with two fans and two rectangular centre vents. I want to identify the car these were sourced from so I can get some rubber seals (mine has foam which just does not work. They do not look like the TR7 ones pictured in the Rimmer Bros. Catalogue, as those have a circular connection at the back. Are they XJS ?

The type and style of the air vents are more variable than a very variable thing that has just had variability lessons at Oxford University!

I have had cars with the screen vents as:
* A GRP moulding as part of the lowerscreen panel
* Cheap tack plastic - 2 bits
* Cheap tack plastic one long piece and
* as two tin pieces

A good bodger could do a better job with a tuperware box, glue and some imagination.

Ah, I was talking about the fresh air vents, not the demist vents. On my olde 280i the fans push air into a chamber which feeds the fresh air vents before going through the heater matrix and onto the demsit vents. It seems that TVR used an open cell foam to seal the fresh air vents, which means hardly any air flows through the matrix, it just creates a draught behind the dashboard - of course the vents are not aligned with the holes in the heater box either!

The vents look remarkably like MGB GT ones. I noticed in some thread or other that someone suggested using foam camping mat - so I obtained a roll for £5, and it is closed cell foam, in polyethylene, which means you can't glue it reliably, but I shall see which of my adhesives works best, and see if I can get fresh air vents to seal, and thus get the demist working. (and I get fresh un-petrol laden fumes to breath!)
