Tefal Actifry. Anyone got one?

We seem to have acquired a Tefal Actifry and I was wondering if anyone else uses one.

It seems to do nice chips, any recommendations of what other food it can do.

Only downside is it's a bit noisy.

Google them, not good! Ours was great super food, until it went into a melt down one Sunday with sparks & flames out of the back. Not uncommon according to the internet. Ours was 13-14month old & we got our cash back for it. A shame as we thought it was great.

Good timing, I was looking into these after the OH told me about the Philips Airfyer:

We had one too. It also died in a cloud of sparks and smoke. It had been great for about two years though. Broke it up and got £50 in parts on e-bay. Bought a deep fat fryer which is used in the garage instead.

According to my O/H, the MK1 was a bit fire prone, but the new MK2 is much less fire prone.

So not completely safe then Having said that, we still used ours knowing that one day it might catch fire

We've got one. So far so good - once you get used to the chips they taste great IMHO.

Mine went POP as well, replaced by Comet, or wherever we bought it. But it is another of those bloody gadgets that gets used only occasionally.

Must try bacon in it though....never thought of that.

Becks used to do a "stir fry" in ours with meat, onion, peppers & a cook in sauce. That with rice or pasta yum....
