Well ever since getting back from BBWF my car has been running a lot better - no more misfiring and in fact it seems to rev freely to over 5000 rpm.

So whatever bad luck you gentlemen have had seems to have paid me as an improvement! Or someone was tinkering with my car while I wasn't looking ;^)

I don't know if it's because I need to do a 100mile+ run every so often, or what, to decoke the combustion chambers??? My normal drive is 19 miles each way and involves some motorway and dual carriageway at full temperature so I would have though there was plenty of time to butn off any carbon.

The longer journeys allow time for all the crap to be burnt off or washed away.

Every car I've owned (all types) has given the least problems when higher mileages/motorway driving was the daily routine.
