Do a 6k yourself ?
Discussion
If I don't want to waste your time I should do a little research too but the questions that come to mind are:
Is 5w40 the correct engine oil ? Is the oil filter a TVR-type only ?
What kind of oil is to be used for the differential oil
And then all the little things that I have no idea where they are but that's where the manual will help me out a little I think.
There's going to be quite a lot of work tomorrow hehe !

Thank you !
One comment i'd make about doing the servicing yourself is the impact it may have on saleability should you ever come to sell?
I could do all of a 6k service, in fact most of a 12k too, though im not sure i have the experience to check tappets like Str8 Six or TVR Power!
The thing that concerns me though, and why i still get it serviced by Power / Str8 Six, is that, should i ever need to sell, i want whoever buys to be reassured that it has been done properly...I wouldnt like to say that a non-PH'er would believe that if i had done it all myself. I guess i would have a chance with a PH'er if you looked though my threads...but it could knock significant money off your resale value IMHO...

I agree with you! The only case in which it wouldn't decrease the value of the car would be if I was GV or a real mechanic, which isn't the case.
The only reason why I want to do it myself is because I live in France, I can't drive all the way to England every time I need it serviced and I doubt I could take it to a French repair shop and expect a full on service like Str8 six, Racing Green would do.
As for the parts needing the eye of an expert, I thought maybe posting a few pictures when I get to that point will suffice.
Cheers!

I'm not planning on servicing the car myself, largely for the reasons mentioned, but it gives an extra indication of what I should be checking between services.I could do all of a 6k service, in fact most of a 12k too, though im not sure i have the experience to check tappets like Str8 Six or TVR Power!

Step one:
Lifting up the car

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Tried to unscrew the bolts but impossible, need to go shopping to solve this. Question is: do I have to change the bolts when I'm done or it's not necessary ?
