And grabbing another driver by his throat and pinning him against the wall is mature I suppose?
Yep. That's a man thing, like punching Eddie Irvine around the head for being an upstart.Personally, I think that Nigel should shut up about it, he's starting to whinge again - and he's not even driving a Williams/Ferrari/Lotus/Lola/McLaren/Zytec/Mondeo/car with wheels/boat/some form of transport......
In the full article in F1 Racing magazine Nigels comments dont appear as bad as they do in that abridged version. I think most sensible people would agree that Hamiliton was too gung ho in Monaco and shouldn't have been involved in so many incidents, Mansell particularly refers to the Williams one. He is also right about his comment about the stewards afterwards and Mansell does acknowledge it was a joke.
What Mansell says is that Jenson is a driver whilst Hamiliton is a racer, and that Hamilton needs to settle down a bit. I seem to remember Jenson though going through his own bad press period.

Nige had a golf course and gym etc.. in Devon, about 10mins away from me. He is known as a grumpy prick, very rude, and terrible to work for. I lost all respect for the chap after a number of different people had experienced this. Nowt to do with this article, just thought i'd share the info, as you never know what these guys are 'really' like.
Is this not just stirring up old news?
Hamilton had a a couple of bad races this season where it's fair to say he lost his head a bit trying to win in a less than 100% competivie car, he was cautioned by the stewards for it, move on.
Yes he could be more like Button, Button is amazing when everything is going his way, but falls to bits when it's not and the stats don't lie, Hamilton has equalled or bettered Button in every aspect of Race Wins, Podiums and WDC in a carear half as long.

Very easy to criticise once you've got older and dare I say, somewhat more sensible. It's also easy to paint a different picture of the past, with a selective memory.
Absolutely. But then again there wasn't an army of stewards waiting to dish out penalties and fines when Nigel and Ayrton were weaving all over each other.

Jenson and Lewis are very much level pegging at the moment, in every aspect. Races won, fastest laps, retirements, finishes, and so on, as well as points. Lewis came into a team at the top of it's game, Jenson did not. Still, you cN only compare them with the same car, and they are arguably dead level. Poor Nigel. Does he not realize he will upset all the Lewis Fan Boys on here! If only Lewis was half as good as you lot thought.
And your answer to that is to try and pointlessly stir something up? Nigel Mansell is entitled to his opinion, but that's all it is. Hamilton hasn't been racing that well at times this season, I'm sure he has his reasons. Sadly this then forms an invitation for people who no longer have the media profile they once enjoyed, to jizz their pants when the press come calling for a soundbite. They have to say something controversial, otherwise they won't get asked next time.
And there's only one thing worse than being talked about...
If Lewis Hamilton was to take on board some of the critcism from several past F1 drivers ( quite deserved I feel ) and act accordingly, he would be more successful. Simple as.
Irrespective of age, Mansell has a point ... make that several. However, this is Piston Heads .... stoney ground and all that.
So, as you were, move over lesser drivers, Yellow Helmet coming through...
