Greetings from a Cerbera owner in Finland

I just thought I'd introduce myself a little as I've just become a Cerbera owner, the first one in Finland I believe! 
I've already had quite a few adventures, with the car, especially on the drive home when my wipers decided they would rather be at 180 degrees from there proper position and my forceful persuasion seemed to have put them off doing there job for good. Of course, it was dark and raining, so it made it especially interesting.
My kids seem to love the car, constantly pressing the buttons to open the doors and boot, and laughing out loud after I was lifting off around 4000rpm. Hell, everyone seems to love it, even the neighbour told me that he could listen to that sound all day. And what a sound they make, every bit as good as I was hoping, and maybe even better. I don't think I've talked to the neighbours so much either! It handled brilliantly on the way home, steady even in the rain and my wife mentioned how smooth the ride was compared to first Skyline driving experiences. Some guy was taking photos in the petrol station as I was filling up, and another milling around nonchalantly trying to figure out what the hell it is!
I believe the car was quite well known on these forums, and I've been reading about wiper issues, so I'll start that sometime this week, the motor is clicking but no movement in the arms. Then my headlights failed to work today. Well, when turning the headlight switch on, there was no dial lights, no light for the dial and no headlights, though the full beam works perfectly. Strangely, these feel like minor problems, and ones which I'm looking forward to resolving, get to know the car a bit better. It's so great to have so much room in the engine bay.
Here's the car just arrived home after the long drive - needs cleaning now.
A trip to my friends place, hard to believe the supra at the back has 600hp!
And my GT-R, still missing a clutch (and no gearbox in) after the mishap with last installation:

Did your brother show you were the fusebox is? Might be worth checking the headlight fuse. Either that or maybe the ribbon cable has been knocked off the back of the headlight switch. Have a look behind the switch and see if anything is loose. Give me a ring this evening if you need too.

Yep, it's a beautiful car, in fact everyone who has seen it has been amazed. You guys did a top job on the restoration! And it's nice to have the support, I really appreciate it.
I had a feeling it would be a ribbon cable, there was a few bumpy parts on the motorway, and I thought that something might have come loose as they were working fine beforehand and for the lights inside to not come on, it has to be something simple. I checked the fuses last night and they were all fine - so no worries there.
Will have to give it a wash tonight, weather permitting, and get some better photos.

Vatanen, as in Kaarlo from "the Year of the Hare" but I can forgive you for thinking it would be Ari!
Got the sponges out. realised I really need to buy some decent car washing equipment, and just hosed the muck off from the trip home, then I managed to remove the tray from under the steering wheel and find the pins on the back of the light switch had no connection. So I located the ribbon cable, put it on the wrong way round and chuckled when turning the switch off turned the lights on, then spent another 10 minutes trying to get it back on the right way. All is well now with the lights, feels nice to do something, no matter how small..
The wipers will be a little more tricky, I have no idea how to get at the arms coming from the motor. I guess I'll start taking bits off to see where I get.

welcome to the world of tvr.. You seem to have be very patient..which you will need to really enjoy the pleasure of the cerb.
really nice to hear that your neighbours love the sound.. mine in the uk hate the sound as it disturbs the sleep and alarms of the street..

Yeah, I decided against the sponges until I get time to go buy some good stuff. What kind of waxes, cleaning products did you use on it, it looked good when i picked it up, even after waiting at the docks for so long.
Got to get my wipers sorted next, there is a clicking from the box as though it tries to move, but I fear I may have been too forceful when trying to get them back into the correct position on the arms. Or they may have come off. But I can't see how to get at the arms underneath the plastic cover.. Guess I'll have a look at them tonight.

Kiitti! Though I might have not mentioned that I am English, just been here for so long now, that even the Irish guys I met on the train the other day thought I was a Finn. I think Mark can confirm, my accent is terrible! really nice to hear that your neighbours love the sound.. mine in the uk hate the sound as it disturbs the sleep and alarms of the street..

I've been through quite a lot with the Skyline, engine rebuild, rear arch rust, dodgy power steering affecting the rear wheel steering, and every part with Skyline tax, so when things like this happen, I'm happy to get to know the car a little better and find out where things are. It's a lot simpler and much more room in the engine bay.
The UK is a lot more crowded than Finland, and the sports cars mainly go away for the 6 month winter, so people tend to be more relaxed towards noisy cars/bikes. I never saw one TVR when I lived in England, but I remember the brochure when I was around 16 or so, and I decided that I really wanted one. The want never went away.
But I miss out on the expertise and closeness of the British TVR community. I know you guys go to Le Mans and the likes often, and even the Nurburgring isn't too far away. Did you go there Mark? Wa just wondering about the sticker on the back of the car.
Welcome - you'll certainly get some looks in that over there, just go easy with the right foot when the weather gets worse!

Aye, no driving this car in the winter, got the trusty old Primera for that. It always seems to work, regardless of the temperature. Starts fine in -35 from cold. After reading the stories of the Cerbera's handling, I was very surprised that it didn't cause me any dramas at all when driving back in the rain. It felt solid, and firmly planted on the road. I'm sure some of that is to do with the suspension and Mark's handling revisions. The only time it let go was once I was back on my home road and pressed the pedal a bit more than normal. My wife asked, well shouted, "what the hell was that?!", then i reminded her that's it's RWD and raining and I shouldn't be such a novice.
Is it sacrilege to leave the sticker on the back as the car has been, but i haven't? Not yet anyway.
