I am about to renovate two bathrooms.

The tiles are a part that I am yet to decide and need some inspiration.

I like the idea of black granite tiles / light off white polished tiles for my shower room.

For my main bathroom I am considering light beige polished ceramic tiles or a mix of marble (walls) and ceramic for the floor.

Anyway, to help me granulate these ideas I would really like to see what your efforts look like!

I remember seeing a few great looking bathrooms previously on PH...

Nicer than tiles and cheaper than marble: travertine.

Go around some new build show homes, some of the designs they do are surprisingly good!

As previously recommended Porcelanosa - if you can get along to one of their showrooms, they have a huge range and usually a good few display rooms. Last time I looked their website was a bit rubbish, but whenever we've bought from them, they've been able to do a deal.

My answer may have been a bit harsh, I didn't mean it to come across that way... But I did some google searches for ideas and it showed me some things I thought looked awful and others which I thought were superb and I wanted them and searched for them or similar... It's a quick and easy way to get hundreds of pictures (though it does help if you at least know what colour you might want!).

Even something as simple as which way to lay the tiles i.e. straight or diagonally...

Mandarin Stone are great! (no, I don't work there)

We have been using their limestone tiles in France, and the products and staff have always been brilliant.

Another vote for Porcelanosa. The service is typically Spanish, but the tiles are top notch. The folks just had two of our bathrooms and our kitchen refitted and used their tiles throughout.

Are we talking long leadtimes?

Depends how many you need. If you're lucky and don't need a huge volume, then they might have them in stock. If not, it takes around a month.

Our kitchen ones took a month as we needed 75sq meters and they only had around half that in stock. They said it was best to order the whole lot from the same fresh batch, as that would ensure they were all identical (batches may vary ever so slightly apparently).

It's not so much the lead times being typically Spanish. It's more the lack of communication and the constant chasing required. Product itself is fantastic quality though, and for something you're likely to have for 10+ years, the little bit of hassle is worth it.
