Big power jap turbo for 6months to a year? Options?

Iam supposed to be saving for a house deposit, but ive got a real itch to own a Supra or Skyline for like 12 months.

It would only be a weekend car/fun car, id keep the Honda, so that would be my daily.

I don't know a great deal about skyline's, but the R34-GTR seems to hold it's value extremely well, and i couldn't see it losing me much money in 12 months ownership, just have to hope nothing major went wrong, how likely is this? Fuel costs would be no problem, tyres, brakes would only need doing once, if that. Or maybe R33 is a better option? much cheaper to start with. What about Supra's?

Some experience from skyline owners would be great heh.

I would hire something myself for the odd days its required

but a 34 Skyline wont be cheap to buy or run or insure
a 33 is cheaper option, some ballistic versions about as above

Supra, known to be able to get 1000 bhp out of them, again its how big its your cash pile

A 33 wouldn't be cheaper to run or insure than a 34.

A GTST won't be cheaper to insure than a GTR.

Almost every Skyline has been modded to some degree. If you don't know the cars it would be really hard to know what you want and what is worth acquiring.

If you're saving for a house why are you buying a car like that?

I'd just scratch the 'Jap turbo' itch with an MR2 turbo or RX-7.
