Already thought about the wheels.

Also excellent colour choice. Love the Civ in that colour.
I have an 06 ES petrol and I hope to god they have sorted out the problems on the newer cars since then because otherwise its going to drive you round the bend.
Of course my car has been nothing but reliable... but it is starting to grate on me now. Suspension is just too hard and knobbly. It crashes into bumps and pot holes with zero panache. The engine sounds way to coarse, road noise on bad roads is awful and the rear suspension is completely uncouth. Apparently creaking/graoning/banging noises from the rear suspension for the first few miles of the day is a standard feature. lovely.
Then there is the interior. Lovely to behold and wonderfully designed... its made of way too many pieces of cheap plastic. They rub, vibrate and creak like no mans business. I have a loud creak from the drivers seat, the center console flexes and groans when you go round corners, the gear stick surround vibrates, the steering wheel center rattles, theres about 3 seperate rattles from various points on the dash and the plastic covering the rev counter is so soft even the lightest of dusting with a micro-fibre scratches it. Its driving me potty.
Granted yours is new so wont exhibit any of this yet. But if they havent remedied the problems from the older cars then they will happen at some point. All I'll say is get honda to fix anything and everything no matter how small while you still have warranty.
Also.... about the wheels, yes they are small looking but due to the solid suspension the 16's easily give the most comfortable ride. It just depends what you want really. I've riden in a Type S with 18's from a Type R on and it was borderline unforgiving. Also have a check out of Civinfo.net (think its .net, just google Civinfo, its a pretty good Honda and Honda Civic forum, very helpful people there.)

Type S is just a spec level, it's nothing like the Type R. It doesnt have the same suspension, gearbox, seat, pedals or steering feel.Nice car, I had the 1.4 Type S when mine went in for a service. All coming clear now as I was of the impression that the Type S was a slightly detuned Type R. Our Si sounds pretty mych a type S then but 1.8 petrol with half leather and lots of twiddles...and more importantly for us...5 doors Nice car, I had the 1.4 Type S when mine went in for a service. Great little thing! I would keep the wheels as they are and enjoy the ride quality, rather than ruin it.

I'm sure that's just what the OP wanted to hear!In fairness though, I did want to hear that as it's obviously not just me that gets irritated by the thing. You seem to have forgotten the comical "suede" armrest that goes white over time, the doors that hold around 10 gallons of water that splash around every time it rains & paint that falls off for fun.
That being said, I've put 103k miles on mine & haven't had to throw any mega money at it yet (thankfully Honda accept that the clutch is made of cheese so replaced it under warranty). Whilst the inferior build quality is an irritant, reliability wise you could a lot worse. I genuinely don't think I'd have had such trouble free motoring had I gone down the Golf/A3 route as originally planned.
OP, I really like the look of your car in that colour with the colour coded skirts/arches. Stick with the wheels you've got on it too; the firm ride does get tiring after a while so you're much better with those. I'd also recommend sticking on some aftermarket pads when you come round to replacing them as the OEM pads are crap. I've got Green Stuff on mine (they were cheaper!) & they're streets ahead in terms of performance & longevity.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that there's at least 500 white marks on my bonnet/front wings (biggest is a good 5mm wide). Complained to Honda early on when I'd got to 10 within the first couple of weeks but they "weren't aware of any" & suggested it was down to my driving style.
Basically the paint on mine is pathetically thin. I have heard of others with the same problem (have a look on civinfo - it really is a good site) although on the other hand we've got a few Civics on the fleet at work (57/08 plates) that don't seem to be anything like as bad, so it could just be bad luck on some earlier cars.
Just something to keep in mind in case you do have any problems as I'm sure Honda will be aware of it & you probably battle it out with them to get it resolved.

Ours is black and has 28k on the clock. Yes I do hoon about the motorway network a lot in it but we had the bonnet resprayed at 26k to tidy up the chips. It doesn't help that it's black either.
It was respray or a 'bra' (or put up with the chips). Bra's are designed to hold fun bags not my Civic's hood IMHO

The water based paint and the angle of the front of the car makes it a magnet for stone chips. Mine is 2 years old this Spetember (59 plate) and when it get's moved on, it will require a respray of the bonnet and front wings.Ive heard about everything else but not this.

I'm hoping that when the 9th gen Civic comes out early next year they will have done something about the paint.
