I hadn't seen one for probably nearly 10 years until a couple of days ago, apparently somebody who works at my local pub has bought a white 205 GTI Dimma, I saw it before as I drove past and will endeavour to get pics of the beauty at some point.

It got me thinking, I'm sure Dimma was based in the North West, or near to, I remember seeing a 993 Dimma with a Dimma(ish) number plate in Runcorn a few times.

Do people still buy Dimma cars new? I don't think I've ever seen a modern car with the kit on.

I see a Dimma 306 in our area quite regular, not seen anything newer than that though.

My dads mate has got a tatty 205 Dimma under a tarpaulin In a barn near to where I live. I went to have a look at it a few weeks ago.

It needs a bit of work to the body kit and interior but it does still have that cool retro look to it.

Not seen one on the road for a good few years although there are a few projects on the go where cars are being brought back to good health.

I remember the Clio and R5 versions as well but not seen any mention of these anywhere for quite some time

A silver Dimma 205 sometimes goes along to car meetings at the Kent Diner in Ashford on a saturday evening.
Looks very tidy too.

I agree, blue would be much better. I just can't decide if they still look good in general though!

There was a white 205 Dimma in Newton le Willows last week and it made me think when was the last time I spotted one of those! I think the owner is local to Warrington

Seen a young lad in a dark grey/black 205 Dimma drive past my house a few times recently, sounds and looks brilliant, but to those who aren't in the know I can imagine it appears as a loud, old, monstrosity which is a shame.

A few weeks back, it was a 205, bit knackered, but still...a dimma.

Discussion about a couple of local ones just now in the Scotland forum..

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

I mind a guy near me having a dark blue clio 16v with the dimma kit about 10 years ago now. Looking back they looked cool then but defo look a bit out dated these days with the slight 80's-early 90s styling.

They remind me a lot of the early 90's Max Power cars.

i loved seeing them in the magazines all those years ago. ive just shown the one listed above to a younger colleague. he thought it was "an old chav car".

Unfortunately they look very "Max Power"... I used to love them but I can't say that I'd drive one unless it was a Rear Engined RWD jobby with serious performance.

Very rare sight. Usually only see them at the shows. Last time i saw one on the road was about 3 years ago, a red 205.

Shame they get labelled as a chav car but i can see why. I think they look really good.

I bet it's the same one I started the thread about, I live in Rainhill and it's parked at my local, not far from where you have seen it.

There's a white Corsa in my home town 'oop norf' with a kit on. I'm not sure if it's a Dimma but it does look very like the 306/205 kits of old. I loved them as a teen and my 10 year old boy is impressed with this Corsa!
