New trend? No plate on front of car ...
Discussion
I removed my front plate and had it in the windscreen.
Lot's of police saw me, not once was I pulled over.
I had it that way as I had bumper done, and was waiting for bracket to be delivered.
It's not legal, and neither are stick on plates.
Maybe you saw me along the m25

Maybe they want to drive fast through average speed check areas....
Are these cars you're seeing with no plates boy racer'd up?
Or just grannies in fiestas with no plate?
no - more like ferraris, maseratis etc. around central london ... (or maybe I just notice those types of cars more often and it's actually more ubiquitous?)Are these cars you're seeing with no plates boy racer'd up?

Simple. These cars look better without a front plate spoiling the lines.Edited by rotary83 on Wednesday 20th July 23:58

The punishment for this is a small fine with no points iirc. Therefore, the average London supercar owner will be willing to pay the odd small fine in order to have their car looking better.
It's a trend within the "euro" scene... Filler in the front recess.
I drove around without a front plate for months when I got my smoothed Polo. I never once got pulled but looking back I must have looked such a tit.
I now have a slightly shorter (height) front plate which fits in the recess perfectly with no over hang at the bottom, smartens up the front end. Again, no trouble from the BiB.
I've not seen any supercars running without a front plate... I'd imagine a jealous, power tripping PC would have a field day pulling over a supercar and issuing a ticket! (I'm not suggesting all BiB's are power tripping jealous types!).

When I got my Eunos it had a offset square plate on the front which I wasn't keen on, so a ran it for a short time with no plate but then I put this on...

You haven't had any trouble from the 'BiB' I'm assuming? Looks fine to me, was just curious about those running no front plate at all ... (a privilege reserved for H.M. The Queen I thought?!)

A lot of sports cars do look better without a front plate, but designing a car without considering the strip of plastic it'll eventually have to wear is just sloppy.
A lot of cars are designed for the American market where no front plate is required, Jaaaaags are guilty of this.Mark
