Hi, had a bit of worrying time! Found the sheared head of a drive shaft bolt on my drive. Investigation revealed two bolts sheared adjacent to each other. I've replaced all 12 bolts. Is this a known problem? Or a cause of over tightning etc? Thanks for any thoughts. John042

Wow, they're tuff bolts!

Your ones must be made of cheese.

Agreed haircutmike. 10mm high spec' bolts take a few armfuls to shear even if they been over torqued. Cheese? so that was the funny smell! I thought it was Big Geoff frightened by riding in a superior Chim? Cheers John042

I would junk those bolts and replace them with a reputable brand.

Glad I'm not the only one. I had one shear a couple of years ago. Don't know why. Just one of those things I think.

Did the car vibrate at speed as a result?
