Wheel size vs BiK tax
Discussion
About to order a Merc C220D Sport Estate as Company barge, replacing an A4 S-Line TDi...
In standard spec, on quite nice 18" wheels, it falls in 20% BIK band based on CO2.
However, if I spec it on 17", it drops to 18%. The difference will be about £25 in my pocket each month, or £900 over the 3 year lease. It should also ride better, although in fairness, the ride on the demo I had (18") was WAY better than the Audi...
So, should I go standard on 18's? Tax will be about the same each month as the Audi though I should see better MPG....
OR, opt for 17", pocket the cash & risk regretting it as the car 'might' look a tad awkward....?
Also, dores anybody know why wheel size makes such a big difference?
Cheers!
