Was having a windscreen fitted yesterday, and got talking to one of the guys who said that he owned a Focus V8, which he bought from Ford in the UK after and they had imported it from the USA. He said it was a '95 car with a 4.2, 4WD and runflat tyres that cost £1,100 each, RHD conversion, and was one of 3 in the country. A quick Google does not reveal any official model, but some US tuning companies that convert the ST to a V8 with RWD, mostly based on the 5.0l engine. I did ask if it was the quad cam, and he said yes. Did that not start as 4.6l though, and can be taken to 5.0l?
Was he stringing me along?

Forgot to add: it has bullet proof glass (didn't want stick on stuff) and could only find thta grade in the colour wanted, plus it was driven on Top Gear - again I could only find tests of the RS and ST models on the programme. He quoted 320 BHP (N-A engine).
So BS then?
ETA : sorry, mixing up years - it was 2005!

Bullet proof glass sounds like BS. Why bother? So BS then?
As I said above though, RWD Focus V8's do exist but were by no means something that could just be bought in your local Ford showroom.

I must admit, it didn't sound totally right at the time, but he told a good story, even down to the fact that it needed twin window motors due to the weight of the glass. As I said above though, RWD Focus V8's do exist but were by no means something that could just be bought in your local Ford showroom.

I did find that article in my earlier searches, which made me question his capacity and power figures. He was obviously a petrol head, but did Ford ever make the cammer in 4.2l guise?- plus all these conversions seem to go along with a RWD conversion. He even gave me a reg number - I just can't remember it.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
