Anyone see this last night? Very moving and inspirational documentary I thought.

Yep we watched this as well. Very good documentary and brought a tear to the eye (even for the bloke in the house).

It seemed he was hanging on as best he could until his wedding day and then went down hill so quickly with him dying 5 days later frown

I admire his partenr for wanting to start a relationship with him and marry him knowing that he only had a matter of time before he died. Very brave shoulders on such young folk.

It must have been such an odd situation to be in - he was diagnosed at 17 I beleive, just when every one of his friends will have been making plans for their future and getting set up in their adult life, going to university, starting out on a career etc. And yet there was Alex knowing he had no future beyond the immediate. The way he approached his life is even more commendable with that in mind.

I agree that his wife (Ali) was also extremely courageous to throw herself so fully into his life, perhaps even more so than Alex, knowing that she would in all likelihood be a widow before she was 24.

Yup, watched it as well. Just shows that you can still be positive to the very end, and how important a good, loving family & friends are. Other 'stuff' just doesn't matter.

Watched this too, very inspirational. It was quite sad watching him deteriorate whilst trying to stay strong.

I also agree with the comments about his wife. Every time her love grew stronger for him, it just meant more heartbreak in the end.

and there I was, moaning about the traffic on the motorway yesterday. Shame on me!

I hope I can take some inspiration from his attitude when it's my turn to die.
