Just got back from a weekends racing at Snetterton in the Griffith.




This weekend Noel from V8 Sports & Classics has uprated the engine with an ACT Carbon Plenum and a Mark Adams Chip. The results were incredibly precise.

In the TVRCC Challenge Cup, power output is regulated to make sure everyone has an even chance to compete without having to spend mega bucks.

We run in class B - which is designed to allow a standard 500 Griff/Chimaera to be competitive without modification.

Our Griff has a 4.6 from V8 Developments. After its first outing at Cadwell, we were a little down on power from the limit, measuring 211BHP/1000KG. This measure of power is made at the wheels using an in car data logger which all cars must carry.

The limit is: 220BHP/1000Kg (measured at the wheels)

Before Snetterton, Noel, Tim(ACT) and Mark got there heads together to see if they could get the engine nearer the limit, and keep up with the 500s.

After qualifying at Snett, the scrutineers download the data from each car and get together in a darkened room to analyse all the competitors, before confirming grid positions. This ususally involves a nervous 15 minute wait.

The Result.....


219.3BHP/1000KG and Pole Position.

Now thats what I call Precision Power Management.
