Help and Guidance needed

OK so here we go, I am looking to start a Yank car collection. We have just purchased a home here in Canada with a massive barn for storage etc so my plan over the next few years is to slowly start collecting and restoring older Yank mobiles
This will be by specific year
1957 - the year my folks got engaged - looking at a 1957 Chev wagon
1967 - my year of birth - Chev corvette coupe
1972 - Started school - Buick Riviera boat tail 455
1977 - 10 years old ??? suggestions welcome
1988 - 21st birthday ??? suggestions welcome - although leaning towards Trans Am or similar
1997 - ?????

No real specific link to the cars open to all suggestions not only high performance ones.

Oh and I have just purchased a 1927 Model A ford because I like them

Change the 67 to a Camaro and the 77 to a C3 Corvette, 88 a C4 Corvette and 97 a C5 Corvette. job done!

I'd change the 77 to a Trans Am, as that's the year of the classic front end, and last year on the Pontiac 400 ci engine...

Rest looks good though..and get a 88' or 97' Vette rather than the 67'. (how bout a 67' Mustang, Charger or GTO instead.. ?)

I like the styling of the 67 Vette Coupe, however also have a soft spot for the mustang! This is going to be a tricky one methinks. Will look into the Trans Am as a 70's car, was thinking Mustang Mach 1 but if I have read it correctly, by 77 they were running underpowered V6's ?

The Mustang Mach 1 disappeared in 1974 with the advent of the Mustang II. By 1977, they did have a V8 but lame isn't the word for this particular Cobra:

Mustang 11 was not a performer by any stretch of the imagination - however the Cobra version was pretty, and is now starting to get collectible and actually are quite nice to drive in a sloppy way!

For 1988, how about the "best of breed/last of breed" Pontiac Fiero Formula?

Sylish (particularly in black with black lace alloys), relatively inexpensive, decent handling for a small runabout, and a piece of automotive history.
