Anyone here got one & using it with the NetSmart box?

If so, what the fook do you do to connect to it?

I know I'm a bloke & we're not supposed to read then anyway, but there aren't any instructions (not impressed).

Ta in advance.

Cheers, I read that thread. I can't get it to work - I note Matt mentioned that there were bugs with it. Bit miffed that they don't mention that on their web site.

Out of interest, what PC based app do you use?

I want to be able to download data for historical unit consumption.

I confess that I just use a spreadsheet to record useage.. sometimes simple is best!

However, if you want something more sophisticated I guess you could contact Matt through his profile and see what he suggests?

Did someone call? smile

The bridge allows you to connect the Envi to the t'internet via your router. It publishes data to Pachube. Current Cost have their own online portal ("mycurrentcost") for showing your usage. The Pachube feed is piped to Google Power Meter but that will cease to exist from mid September as Google are discontinuing Power Meter.

The alternative is to get a data cable and plug the device into your computer. This does not need the bridge. Then you need to run some software on the computer to harvest the data from the device (the computer does not need to be on all the time as the device has a memory).

You can't connect to the bridge (ie send data to t'internet) AND your local computer (ie. send to desktop software) at the same time. (Well, technically you can if you are happy to do a bit of wire chopping and soldering, but it's not an "official" mod) smile

Matt,

The black box has been recording since yesterday afternoon.

I have installed the trial version of Techtoniq Energy Station.

I have exported the data to csv and this is what it looks like

Is this what you would expect to see?

I was previously told that I could download units used over a period of time.

Or is there something else I need to do?

Yes that's what I'd expect to see assuming you had the computer connected to the Envi yesterday from 6:08pm to 6:15pm and briefly today at 12:31pm.

The Envi publishes its historic data to the computer at set times, or you can manually force it to send its history. Have a read of the FAQ in the help file. Feel free to ask any questions on our support forum.
