Oil pressure 60psi
Discussion
Just picked up a 2004 4.0 tuscan and am now a member of the club
The car seems to drive fine and was checked over by Sebring before I bought it.
I did notice the oil pressure is about 50-60 psi under normal driving - 2500 rpm in 5th.
Is this normal?
As I say the car drives well, nice and smooth, sounds awesome, but didn't feel as fast as I was expecting although I didn't really go over 3500 rpm.
Thoughts?

What should the normal oil pressure be?
When the engine is warm (above 60°C), the oil pressure should be around 9-12PSI at idle and 25-35PSI at 2,000 RPM. This will vary depending on the engine, type of oil being used and accuracy of oil pressure gauge.

Mine is 20psi at idle, and 49 at RPM

Oil pressure senders are known to go a bit loopy and give scary readings so I wouldn't panic- mine did last year. Have a word with your specialist about the symptoms and they should be able to advise if it sounds like a dodgy one- not a costly fix IIRC (may even be DIY). Good luck with it- should feel fast above 3500rpm.

Was it properly warmed up? You get high readings like that with cold oil
Yeah, this was pretty consistent and on a long 3 hr run. Didn't want to floor it in case something was not quite right - But id did notice it seemed to sit between 50-60 psi regardless of acceleration or coasting.Had a similar thing on mine this last week. As above usually ~10 idle and 40-50 under load, however started getting some odd readings with pressure jumping from anything from 60 to 99 under load and 20-30 at idle then back to normal. Assumed it's a dodgy sender as car has been left out in the rain for a week and had a series of other funny warnings on start such as 0.00 volts, 0 oil pressure etc
