Renault will sell a car for 5000,- euro in Europe.
Doing so Renault hopes to increase sales up to 4 million cars a year.

The car is called "Logan" ... and I'm wondering how good it will be. (Actually I don't have a bad feeling about it, because even todays entry cars are packed full with electronics, you don't really need - so get rid of them and you will have a cheap and relativly good car.)

is it alright calling it a logan?........surely it would have to be either

1.a good pursuit car -like the sandmen were good at catching the 'runners'(highly unlikely)

or

2.a good runner - or the ad would be 'logan's run........sometimes'

Okay, given, it's not really what I would call a beautiful car. But for 5000,- Euro, it looks much better then I thought.

It's a Dacia, the Romanian company owned by Renault who used to make the Renault 12 pickup in a pretty appalling way. Equivalent to Polski-Fiat or FSO. I just hope that they know how to build it properly this time despite the sweat shop labour rates.

Dacia made all 3 versions of the R12 (saloon, Estate and Pick-up, all dacia badged, I think), All badly.
I think they made the last few years of the R5 'campus' manufacture and actually had the Renault badge on them.
IIRC they made a slight c0)k-up on the basic floorpan jigs on the R5. The early R5s they made (if not all that they made) had a problem with the rear wheelbase. It was either not central or slightly twisted. Renault will not make that type of mistake again in a hurry, especially when their badge is involved. I think they will have checked, re-checked and double checked for major mistakes. So then it just comes down to build quality.....
