Hallo, i have looked everywhere here in Sweden for a LT77 gearbox but
i had no luck with that. Does anyone have some links to some good websites
that have what i`m looking for? Is there any other gearboxes that fits bolt on?
And no, i don`t have loads of money, i have a wife wink so i`m looking for a restored gearbox.

Best regards
Jonny

Why does your gearbox need replacing? It's generally better to have your own box rebuilt, rather than buy a used one which may not work properly anyway. There are plenty of people (in the UK) who can rebuild these. (mines being rebuilt at the moment). Is it possible that there is anyone in Sweden who is familiar with the LT77? This box was used in a variety of Land Rover and Range Rover models, so maybe there is a specialist in these in Sweden that you could try?

What are the symptoms? You might like to check the FAQ articles first (sticky posts above):

Gearbox remote linkage

This is a relatively simple fix without removing the box.

However if the box does need fixing then get them to uprate the bearings too, if at all possible.

Wise comment. The remote can often be an issue. Look here http://www.gomog.com/allmorgan/remoteissues.html And clutch problems can cause what seems to be gearbox problems

If you are opening the box..don't bother looking around Sweden for parts. The further you get away from the source (UK), the harder it is to find what you need, the lower the expertise one finds and the higher the prices. This is even true inside the UK. The company that supplies everyone else (who mark their stuff WAY up) is Ashcroft Transmissions http://www.ashcroft-transmissions.co.uk/ You want their LT77 Master rebuild kit;

All Bearings
All Baulk Rings
All Seals & Gaskets
Layshaft Nut
Oil Filter
Oil Pump
Mainshaft Collar
Oil Feed Ring
Oil Catcher
All Circlips
All Slippers

for £140

Alternatively, you want an exchange for a rebuilt box £445. If so, try to get one of the last post 1990 boxes. They are much better.
