Having lived in the Poole area for 9 years (Lilliput and Lower Parkstone) and being used to having everything practically on my doorstep I am considering moving to Ashley Heath to get more for my money housewise.

Anyone made the move or have experience of living in Ashley Heath? Will I miss not being 5/10 mins from all the Cafe life of Poole/Lower Parkstone?

Found a great house on a lovely road at a good price but it's just that leap into the unknown that's stopping me. I know it's only 20 mins from Bournemouth so am I worrying over nothing?

Ta!

There are a few here from around Ashley Heath including my family. It's a nice area, but not much there in terms of cafes, restaurants etc. Mostly just housing!

That's my only concern. I don't go out that often (once a week probably) but it's knowing it's just on the doorstep that's always at back of mind. Have friends up there who love it and go to Wimborne for food etc as it's 10 mins away. Can save around £250k though on equiv house and that's not to be sniffed at - bloody garage could have a very meaty motor in it smile

Depending on where you choose, you will need your car whatever you want to do.

The only shops left are the forge and the post office.

I'm aware of that having visited a few times. I don't mind paying for taxis for a night out.

It's really not that far, 20mins?

Think of how nice and quiet it will be, and the clean fresh air!

I've just moved in to St Ives / Ashley Heath last week. I must admit, it aint a bad place to live. Almost a sense of prestige about the place, yet it maintains a strong community spirit.

As far as travel goes, the handy Spur Rd / bypass means nowhere is hard to get to.
