cars you are proud to own

How many people here have a car they are truely proud to own? Not just expensive exotica but a car that you have and will show off given every oppertunity?
How did you come to get your car? How long did it take you? Why did you want this car in the first place?
Now lets make this clear, I LOVE my C2 and I would never get rid of it but I would be proud to own a morgan, quattro or a GTR34 V-Spec. I'm just wondering who has a car they can't help but show off to people given the chance?
it can be as fancy, cheap, new, old, standard or modded as you like.

It's one of the first thousand, and I love it, but don't drive it very often. It's older than I am and I will never sell it.

Every single one. 
From my very modest income I've managed to have a varied and interesting vehicle history. I am proud that I'm not a badge slag or an autoegotist in any way.
I'd rather own a pile of crap that everyone else takes the piss out of but I have worked hard for; a lot more than someone who buys a Ferrari with a Lotto win or weeks wages kicking a pig skin about.

I personally think this follows on from the thread a few weeks ago regarding what people need to do to their cars.
The longer I own my cars the more anal I get about them and are always finding fault with them no matter how small.
I have one stone chip on my M3 and a slightly lazy passenger side regulator on my 968 - but I'm continually adding to the job list.

i hardly get to use it. if im honest the "need" for me to have a v8 on my very average income was a stretch to explain to the misses. from the very moment i knew they were going to be avalible in the UK i put money away every week to be able to buy one. the day i picked it up i nearly forgot to ask for a test drive i was that excited, i boarderline just gave the chap wads of cash with a mute grin
Its on alot of peoples "i wouldnt mind one of those" wish list of cars despite being a fairly cheap vaux. it sounds like a bonafida muscle car and people actually stop to speak me about it of all ages. ive only ever seem one other cv8 in "real life", so being a rare car justs adds to my proud factor.
im not ashamed to admit it......im in love.
most of the time i drive a Fiat Stilo, thus the good bad balance is restored.

I'm always very proud of my S60. I had always fancied an S60, because some of my friend are traffic police or ex traffic police and they had had the pleasure of driving the T5 versions around and all agreed it was one of the best cars they'd driven on traffic (and many are veterans of the Sierra and Escort Cosworth traffic days). So when I had my MX5, and was not impressed with it's lack of refinement and a few other things, I decided to buy one of these after having a look at a colleagues S60 2.0 T.
I decided that was the one for me and I went and bought one. Part of the enjoyment I get from it is telling people it cost me £2700 for a 65,000 mile car with FSH and one previous owner. They assume I'm some sort of bargain hunter but then I just got lucky finding one this good so close to me. Loads of them have done massive mileages, indeed, my colleague tried to sell me his 130,000 mile example for £2000. I expect I'll hang onto the Volvo for quite a while as I just love driving it.

Nice one! I drive a Monaro CV8 too.....awesome car. Proud of my 3 Astras, the wife's Nova and a poorly Vectra we have at the moment. Not many people would bother to extend even the minimal effort required to keep these old hacks on the road. The Mk2 particularly has served me well over 11 years and 100,000 miles with no journey ever not finished in it's life so far.

All good examples so far. I love my xjr. It is worth about the same as a bag of fish and chips but
goes well and scrubs ok and looks reasonably smart. If it were written off tomorrow I would buy the same again. Probably look for the same colour too. On my phone so cannot post a pic but if you are desperate enough there is one in my profile
