Sport v SE/Elegance
Discussion
Anybody on here understand the difference between the Sport and SE / Elegance suspension setup ? there is no point whatsoever asking the dealers. I quite fancy a new C250 Diesel estate but I find the Sport too hard and crashy over anything other than perfect surfaces, the Elegance however is too far the other way and just seems vague and wollowy. The steering on the softer versions feels like it is connected to the wheels by a rubber band. I guess what I want is the better turn in of the sport but with softer dampers. At a guess they are probably the same base part but adjusted or valved differently. I wonder if the vauge steering in is done by altering the front toe or castor setting, or perhaps the software in the power steering ECU ?
The 3 series SE is so much nicer to drive being both compliant and going where you point it. It is a shame Merc can’t get a bit closer in how the car drives.
