Hello Mike I would suggest avoid using vaseline as it is petroleum based and may harm the rubber, also it may well help the hose on but could just as easily help it back off when the system builds up pressure!!

Hope all is well, we need some pictures and a driving report please!!

Stick it in a mug of boiling water, that will make it supple. A BBWF2011 mug will do the job perfectly, only £5 + p+p from Andy Tank.

Use a little washing up liquid to help put your hoses back on as it wont affest any pipes.

Do you think the vinigar has helped with the flushing ou the crap...

Rain water is not distilled or as good as by the time you collect it.

There is a very big difference between distilled water and rain water and its not just the P.H..(Potential Hydrogen)..I certainly wouldnt drink rainwater without boiling it off and collecting the steam..Or..

Fortunately I'm connected to mains water, so I don't have to drink rainwater - plus AFAIK I'm not in an area known for acid rain. Distilled water just seems a tad extravagant for a cooling system.

I read in the Sunday sport to put a garden slug in the filler neck cos once full of water it travels around the system like a mole and helps to clear any restrictions, you can drop a little salt on em too which pisses them off a bit.furious
