Local diesel mechanic

Looks like the Headgasket is on the way on my wife's otherwise tidy Peugeot 306, it's a 2.0l Hdi, nothing exotic, but I've looked into doing it myself .. and a bit out if my skill & experience range I think. The car obviously isn't worth much, but we are happy to keep it if we can get it fixed, for reasonable money. Anyone got any ideas of someone who may be able to do this for 'mates rates' labour & folding stuff ?

not sure how local you are, try dave stockley @ Village Vehicles in Kimpton, has just got my dad's car back on the road which needed everything from welding to re-wiring! 01438 904743

Thanks, in Toddington .. been quoted £700 ish for the wifes 306 Hdi, which is 10 years old and has 160k on it. Happy to keep it, and to have the HG sorted .. but makes no sense at that price !
