I was driving up whatever the road is that goes from Dorchester to Yeovil yesterday and passed some sort of mobile camera set-up, a big-ish black box on tripod and an unmarked white van parked (almost hidden) in the hedge about 10 yards away. What sort of system is this? More importantly, does it read from the front or from behind ? It didn't flash at all but that means nothing these days of course.

Don't these things need to be clearly marked in bright yellow?

That sounds like the mini gatso they like to use.

I think they get you from behind (nothing like being taken up the ar$e by a scamera ) as you go past. Its basically gatso intestines on a tripod.

That'll be the Mini Gatso than, rather frequently up my road (North Dorset). Had a few chats with them & I have this photo.

It always takes a rearward facing pic, always flashes using the "landing light" unit on the right on an umbillacle. It's previously been set to NIP at 40mph in our 30mph limit.

If you contest it they will return to measure up! (allegedly). It has always been manned by traffic plod when it's out my way.
