Casey Anthony verdict not guilty - then jury says they thought she did it!!

Sickest/saddest story I've read in a long time.

That's not really the point.

Jeez.

The Sun said AQ was behind the Norweigan tragedy...

Ok so I've spent a good hour reading through the case reports online etc.

What research have you done? If you can assess all the information and detail available and conclude that she is some poor misunderstood girl that is 100% innocent then I take my hat off to you.

Her actions from start to finish are 'in your face' wrong!

Or perhaps only people who film the crime, give the tape to police, admit to it in court, and confirm it on Ph should be found guilty.

Clearly any post nowadays on Ph gets the obligatory devils advocate replies.

It's not been proven, she's technically innocent. If the jury couldn't convict they must have been persuaded that there was a reasonable doubt in the prosecution.

This thread is a repost, was discussed a few weeks ago when the verdict was announced. Do a search.

So the topic has an element of humour in it for you. No kids I guess!

So what are you saying? That you think she is completely innocent or that they didn't provide enough evidence to convict?

Plus you haven't even stated if you read about the case?

Of perhaps just 'chipping in' with no prior knowledge?

"Beyond reasonable doubt" is the test.

If that test cannot be satisfied - then she cannot be convicted of murder.

Luckily, the law is adminstered in this country by the courts, not by the tabloids.

Two of the jurors in the OJ Simpson case said that they believed he had killed his wife but that they felt that it would be wrong to convict as the police lied (in their opinion). There was no suggestion that the case had not been proved beyond a reasonable doubt but just that it was payback time for the police.

A very odd point of view.

It was commented that in this case the jury took reasonable doubt to be absolute proof.

I guess I must be the only one to think there has been a miscarriage of justice.

(at least it bodes well for me if i ever get put up for murder that there are so many right on liberals out there today)

Must remember to be caught out partying and entering beauty contests etc when my wife/kid etc goes missing. Then falsely counter allege to take the heat off me.

God forbid you are ever in such a situation. However, if you are, and you are truly innocent, then I am sure you will hope and pray that the jury are convinced of any doubt in the evidence the prosecution have against you.

Perhaps there has been. The jury considered all the available evidence though, and concluded there was doubt that she did it.

Whether they are right or wrong is another matter, and it may well be a miscarriage, if so I hope they get enough evidence together next time.

This has nothing to do with liberal opinions, nor whether they are 'right on' or not, it's the way the law works, the law being a different animal to 'fairness' and even 'justice'. It's the only system we have though, even if a few slip through the cracks (both ways).

I'd think it would be highly probable that in the event of murdering your wife then you too would exploit all available loopholes, like I say, it's a system.

The key word is the word 'apparently' in your thread title.

Oh dear I see I'm on my own with this so the fact that she didn't report her 2 year old daughter missing for 31 days is normal...

Anyway I'm done arguing here. It's clear to me now why she got off. Wouldnt surprise me if you lot were on the jury

Hopefully it wouldn't be someone who jumped to conclusions.
